I didn't make it to NARPM's national conference in Las Vegas this year. I sent three RL team members instead, so I followed the news online like a lot of you.

Vendors save their biggest launches for conference week, so I pulled together everything I could find online. Below is the full list, grouped by type, with my notes on what I'd pay attention to as an operator.

Industry reports and data

Buildium released its new State of the Property Management Industry Report. Most of it sits behind an email gate. If you want industry data without handing over your contact info, the PM Trends report is free to read.

RentEngine published its Q3 Leasing Report. We use RentEngine for leasing and showings at my 700+ door company.

ShowMojo put out a new study asking "Do Renters Really Want AI?" ShowMojo also announced their Q3 Data Talk on October 28. I'm the special guest, so come say hi.

Software launches and upgrades

DoorLoop launched DoorLoop 2.0, which they call "a rebuild, not a redesign." According to their press release, the new version delivers up to 4x faster core screens, 70+ rebuilt reports, and five operational dashboards. They rebuilt the platform from the ground up instead of layering new features onto the old one.

If you're a DoorLoop customer, get in touch. I want to add DoorLoop's API score to my API Report Card.

RentEngine rolled out Command Center 2.0.

Showdigs launched Showdigs+, a leasing management plan that combines a 24/7 AI leasing agent, automated workflows, and real-time dashboards. Their AI answers prospects, qualifies them, and books tours, then hands off to your team when a human needs to step in.

ShowMojo added Instant Tour Scheduling with Apartments.com.

Tenant Turner announced seven improvements to Tina, their AI virtual agent.

PlanOmatic now includes complimentary floorplans with every order, and they've upgraded their post-production with a dedicated in-house editing team.

The AI leasing theme

Count the AI leasing items above: Showdigs+, Tenant Turner's Tina update, and ShowMojo's study on whether renters want AI at all. Leasing is where vendors are pushing AI hardest right now.

Regulators and big platforms are moving the other way. Philadelphia City Council members said they're developing legislation to limit AI use in apartment operations, including maintenance requests. And Les Shaver reported on RealPage pausing its EliseAI integrations. If you're rolling out an AI agent, keep an eye on your local rules before you let it run on its own.

NARPM news

NARPM introduced a new logo. Someone sent me a photo of it from the conference. I like it.

NARPM also handed out its annual awards:

  • Volunteer of the Year: Brad Randall, a Crane member
  • Chapter of the Year: Florida State Chapter
  • Affiliate of the Year: Second Nature

Congrats to all three.

The fun stuff

Second Nature made a property management video game called Rent Rush. I did a live play-through on Twitch for fun.

RentEngine announced a new leasing conference, RECON. One more event for the 2027 calendar.

Did I miss anything?

This list covers what I could find online, and I'm sure vendors announced more on the show floor. If you were in Vegas and saw something I left out, reply and tell me.
